But carry on thinking we’re oppressing you with our concern. They’re not told to be asexual, they’re told to be celibate. Completely different thing, numbskull. And having a multitude of varied resources which detail all kinds of orientations including asexuality available, so people can make their own decisions about how they want to identify, is harmful? Tbh all I’m hearing from you guys is the same sort of concern trolling crap gay people get from parents complaining about LGBT info being made available, because they’re worried their poor child might turn gay from just being exposed to such material. Young kids aren’t going to be magically converted to asexuality just by being informed that it is a thing that exists and there is information on it.

It almost made me feel safer, in a way, to know that someone out there is able and willing to fight back at this point, and to know that the counter-arguments are now out there for people to see, too. Well, how could I not bring this back when the other meme re-emerged? Seeing as they both started around the same time last time. Calling out offensive behaviour is always something that should be done regardless of what community you belong to, but I’m always happy to point out the hypocrisy of some people in the queer community to complement them singling out examples of aces being offensive.

I feel like the homophobic ace meme at least posts links (most of the time) so I know that they're not accusing the entire ace community of homophobia, just the person/s who said something homophobic.
